Meredith McCaslin Bio:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and shine. BBBSLI makes meaningful, professionally supported matches between adult volunteers (‘Bigs’) and children (‘Littles’).
BBBSLI believes every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, both as individuals and citizens – that by doing so, they will not only do well, they will also do great things.
As Director of Development it is my job to educate, recruit and engage professionals, business leaders and companies on long island to get involved with our agency to help support of our fundraising initiatives and awareness of the agency. We hold many events throughout the year which range from golf outing, gala, fishing tournament, poker tournaments, fashion show and many more fundraising programs which go to support the youth here on Long Island.
Meredith received her BS in Sport Management from the State University of New York in Cortland and was a four-year starter & captain on their SUNYAC and State Championship winning tennis team. She started her career in professional sports working with the Orlando Magic NBA team and US Open Tennis. She then transitioned into the non-profit industry working in all areas of fundraising and events for some of the largest non-profit charities (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The American Heart Association).
In 2017 Meredith was recognized by Long Island Business News as a 40 under 40 Award Recipient. She is an active member of Girls Inc. on Long Island, which is an amazing organization promoting our young female youth to be strong, smart and bold and currently sits on the committee for their Gala Committee She is also very involved in the Melville Chamber of Commerce Young Professional’s group and in 2016 was recognized as the Melville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional of the Year, she is in her second year of co-chairing their Young Professional Board. Meredith also sits on the Young Professional Board for New Ground; is a member of Long Island Elite (LIE), The Health and Business Alliance (HBA) and was newly appointed to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
In her personal life, she has been actively involved in the arts community as a member of The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) and Babylon Village Arts Council and shows her photography, paintings & work all over the island. She is an avid golfer, tennis player and world traveler.
