The Melville Chamber of Commerce is delighted to offer Certificates of Origin services to members and non-members upon request.

A Certificate of Origin is a formal document completed by the exporter or its agent and certified by an authorized entity, confirming that the goods in a specific export shipment have been entirely produced, manufactured, or processed in a particular country.

The term "origin" refers to the country where the goods were produced rather than the country from which they were shipped. If products were manufactured in multiple countries, the origin is determined by the country where the last significant economically justified work or process occurred.

Two types of certificates are available:

  1. Certificate of Origin - for products being shipped that are at least 55% manufactured in the United States.

  2. Certificate of Non-USA Origin - for products not made in the United States but shipped from the country.
