    The seventeenth annual Over 50 Fair fills the Huntington Hilton with over eighty exhibitors and more than twenty classes, all included with admission. Free hearing screenings, free financial, legal and therapeutic consultations, energy healings, a singles lounge hosted by MTN Matchmaking, and a live acoustic showcase running through the day. Classes range from Scrabble strategy taught by a nationally ranked player to singing, staying strong as you age, and dating after 50. Admission is $7 in advance or $10 at the door, and veterans get in free with ID. Bring non-perishable food, a new toy or a donation for Angela's House and you earn raffle tickets. Voted Best of Nassau County for ten consecutive years. Booths, speaker spaces, and sponsorships are still available.

    Huntington Lighthouse Public Tour

    Huntington

    One of the few chances all year to stand inside a working lighthouse in open water. Tours leave by boat from the Town of Huntington’s Gold Star Battalion Beach dock, with departures running from 11 a.m. through the last trip at 3 p.m. The outing takes roughly an hour and fifteen minutes and includes the ride out, a guided tour, time inside the lighthouse and a climb of the tower. Tickets run about $35 for adults, $30 for seniors 65 and over and $25 for children 5 to 12. Everything is weather and wind permitting, so check with the Preservation Society before you drive over.

    The walk-through jack o’lantern trail returns for a 13th season on 21 select nights between October 2 and November 1. The route carries more than 10,000 illuminated objects, including some 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins and 3,000 specialty lanterns, plus Halloween scenes and interactive displays along the way.
